EFFECTS OF PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING ACTIVITIES ON THE MEDIA LITERACY OF GRADE SIX STUDENTS AT PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN NONTHABURI PROVINCE UNDER THE OFFICE OF PRIVATE EDUCATION COMMISSION

Abstract

The objectives of this research are as follows: (1) to compare the differences the media literacy skills among Grade Six students before and after using problem-based learning activities; (2) to study the satisfaction of Grade Six students with the developed package. The sample consisted of 30 students at Phraharuethai Nonthaburi School and selected by volunteer sampling. The research instruments consisted of the following: (1) a lesson plan according to problem-based learning; (2) an academic achievement test for media literacy skills; (3) a scale to measure the satisfaction of Grade Six students with the developed package. The data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The differences in academic achievement and media literacy skills were tested with a sample independent t-test. The results of this research indicated the following: (1) after being taught with the developed package, academic achievement was higher than before with a statistical significance of .05; (2) the sample was satisfied with the developed package and the sample had a high level of satisfaction (mean=4.62, SD=0.97). When the individual aspects were considered, the sample had a high level of satisfaction with the content and evaluation, the aspect with the highest level of satisfaction was more understanding of media literacy skills. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อ (1) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบทักษะการรู้เท่าทันสื่อก่อน และหลังเรียน โดยใช้การจัดกิจกรรมเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 (2) เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจ ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 เกี่ยวกับการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐานเพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการรู้เท่าทันสื่อ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในงานวิจัยคือ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ของโรงเรียนพระหฤทัยนนทบุรี จำนวน 30 คน ซึ่งผู้วิจัยได้มาจากการสุ่มแบบสมัครใจ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในงานวิจัย (1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ ตามรูปแบบการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน (2) แบบทดสอบการรู้เท่าทันสื่อ ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 (3) แบบประเมินความพึงพอใจเกี่ยวกับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐานเพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการรู้เท่าทันสื่อ การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการเปรียบเทียบผลคะแนนแบบทดสอบก่อนและหลังการจัดกิจกรรมโดยใช้ค่า t ( t-test independent) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 มีผลคะแนนการทดสอบทักษะการรู้เท่าทันสื่อ หลังการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐานสูงขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 (2) นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 มีความพึงพอใจเกี่ยวกับการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐานเพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการรู้เท่าทันสื่ออยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด (mean=4.62 และ SD.=0.97) เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน พบว่า ในด้านเนื้อหา การวัดประเมินผล นักเรียนมีความพึงพอใจมากที่สุดคือ นักเรียนมีความรู้ความเข้าใจเรื่องทักษะการรู้เท่าทันสื่อมากขึ้น (mean=4.97 และ SD.=0.18)
