A STUDY OF LEARNING MANAGEMENT WITH SWOT TECHNIQUETO DEVELOP DECISION-MAKING ABILITIES IN SOCIAL STUDIES

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) develop learning activities using the SWOT technique to enhance decision-making ability in social studies; (2) investigate students’ decision-making ability after participating in learning activities using the SWOT technique, and (3) compare students’ decision-making ability before and after the implementation of these activities. The sample consisted of 40 eleventh-grade students from Samut Prakan School in the first semester of the 2024 academic year. The participants were selected from a population of 15 classrooms using cluster sampling, with one classroom randomly chosen as the sampling unit. The research instruments included four instructional units totaling 16 hours, and a decision-making ability test consisting of short-answer questions, evaluated using a rubric designed to assess decision-making performance. The study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design. The data were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation, one-sample t-test, and dependent t-test. The findings revealed that: (1) The SWOT-based learning activities to enhance decision-making ability consisted of four key steps: step 1 situation analysis, step 2 alternative design, step 3 evaluation of alternatives, and step 4 decision-making. The assessment process was aligned with the expected learning outcomes related to decision-making skills. (2) the students' post-test decision-making scores were significantly higher than the 80% benchmark at the .01 level, and (3) the comparison of pre-test and post-test scores indicated that students' decision-making ability significantly improved after participating in the SWOT-based learning activities at the .01 level.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ (1) เพื่อพัฒนากิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ด้วยเทคนิค SWOT เพื่อพัฒนาความสามารถในการตัดสินใจในรายวิชาสังคมศึกษา (2) เพื่อศึกษาความสามารถในการตัดสินใจของนักเรียนหลังการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ด้วยเทคนิค SWOT (3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการตัดสินใจของนักเรียนก่อนและหลังการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ด้วยเทคนิค SWOT กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 โรงเรียนสมุทรปราการ ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2567 จากประชากร 15 ห้องเรียน ซึ่งได้มาด้วยวิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบแบ่งกลุ่ม (Cluster Sampling) โดยมีหน่วยการสุ่มเป็นห้องเรียน 1 ห้องเรียน จำนวน 40 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วยแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ 4 หน่วยการเรียนรู้ จำนวน 16 ชั่วโมง และแบบวัดความสามารถในการตัดสินใจ มีลักษณะการตอบเป็นแบบเขียนตอบสั้น โดยมีเกณฑ์การให้คะแนนความสามารถในการตัดสินใจ แบบแผนการทดลองใช้แผนการวิจัยแบบศึกษากลุ่มเดียว วัดผลก่อนและหลังการทดลอง (One group pretest-posttest design) สถิติที่ใช้ในวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การทดสอบค่าที แบบ one sample และ t - test dependent ผลการวิจัย พบว่า (1) กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ด้วยเทคนิค SWOT เพื่อพัฒนาความสามารถในการตัดสินใจ มี 4 ขั้นตอน ได้แก่ ขั้นที่ 1 วิเคราะห์สถานการณ์ ขั้นที่ 2 ออกแบบทางเลือก ขั้นที่ 3 พิจารณาทางเลือก และขั้นที่ 4 การตัดสินใจเลือกทางเลือก โดยมีการวัดประเมินซึ่งกำหนดผลลัพธ์การเรียนรู้ที่คาดหวังตามความสามารถในการตัดสินใจ (2) ผลการศึกษาความสามารถในการตัดสินใจของนักเรียนหลังการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ด้วยเทคนิค SWOT หลังเรียนเปรียบเทียบกับเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 คะแนนหลังเรียนสูงกว่าเกณฑ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 (3) ผลการเปรียบเทียบคะแนนความสามารถในการตัดสินใจของนักเรียนก่อนและหลังการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ด้วยเทคนิค SWOT พบว่า คะแนนของความสามารถในการตัดสินใจโดยใช้เทคนิค SWOT หลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ.01
