GUIDANCE OF FLEXIBLE EDUCATION FOR UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL

Abstract

The purposes of this research are as follows: (1) to study the current situation and to analyze flexible education at the undergraduate level of autonomous higher education institutions in Thailand; and (2) to propose a guideline for flexible education at the undergraduate level. This research was qualitative research by documentary research and in-depth interviews with key informants from four samples of higher education institutions, which are an autonomous higher education institution, and offer flexible education at the undergraduate level, namely Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Thammasat University, and Mahidol University. The theory of Flexible Education by Advanced Higher Education (Advance HE) was used as a research framework. The researcher analyzed data from research papers and in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed by SWOT Analysis and the TOWS Matrix. The results of the study were flexible education for undergraduate level of four higher education institutes under four factors: use of technology-enhanced learning, pedagogical approaches for the curriculum to be flexible, integrated employment in education, and clear institutional-level systems and structures where all factors are related. It is also a key element in creating flexible education at the undergraduate level.

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและวิเคราะห์การจัดการศึกษาแบบยืดหยุ่นในระดับปริญญาตรีของสถาบันอุดมศึกษาในกำกับของรัฐ และ (2) เพื่อเสนอแนวทางการจัดการศึกษาแบบยืดหยุ่นระดับปริญญาตรี ทั้งนี้ งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) โดยการวิจัยเอกสาร (Documentary Research) และการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-depth interview) กับผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ (Key Informant) จากกลุ่มสถาบันอุดมศึกษาตัวอย่าง 4 สถาบัน ที่เป็นสถาบันอุดมศึกษาในกำกับของรัฐและมีการจัดการศึกษาแบบยืดหยุ่นในระดับปริญญาตรี ได้แก่ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ และมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล โดยใช้ทฤษฎีของแอดแวนซ์ ไฮเออร์ เอ็ดดูเคชั่น (Advance Higher Education : Advance HE) เป็นกรอบในการวิจัย ซึ่งผู้วิจัยวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากวิจัยเอกสารและการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก แล้วจึงวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยการวิเคราะห์สวอท (SWOT Analysis) และ เมททริกซ์ทาวซ์ (TOWS Matrix) ผลการวิจัย คือ การจัดการศึกษาแบบยืดหยุ่นระดับปริญญาตรีของสถาบันอุดมศึกษาทั้ง 4 สถาบัน อยู่ภายใต้ปัจจัย 4 ประการ ได้แก่ เทคโนโลยีส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ที่เลือกใช้ แนวคิดศาสตร์การสอนปรับหลักสูตรให้มีความยืดหยุ่น การจ้างงานที่บูรณาการในการจัดการศึกษา และระบบและโครงสร้างระดับสถาบันที่ชัดเจน โดยทุกปัจจัยมีความสัมพันธ์กัน และเป็นองค์ประกอบหลักในการสร้างแนวทางการจัดการศึกษาแบบยืดหยุ่นระดับปริญญาตรีอีกด้วย
