DEVELOPMENT OF VALUE AND NUMBER ABILITY OF GRADE ONE STUDENTS WITH MILD INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES USING DIRECT INSTRUCTION AND THE TOUCH MATH TECHNIQUE

Abstract

The main purpose of this thesis was to develop the value and addition of number ability, among Grade One students who had mild intellectual disabilities using the Direct Instruction Method and The Touch Math techniques. The participants were students who had mild intellectual disabilities (IQ 50 – 70) and no disability overlap. The selected groups of students were Grade One students from Ban Muangpak Samakkhi School, in Nakhon Ratchasima in their first semester of the 2019 academic year. The Grade One students who participated in this study were selected by Purposive Sampling method. The research instruments were teaching plans for teaching value and the addition of numbers using the Direct Instruction Method and The Touch Math techniques. The study was conducted using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The statistics used in analyzing the information were median, interquartile range and The Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Ranks Test. The result of this research revealed the following : (1) the value of number ability was at a very good level; (2) the value of number ability after using the Direct Instruction Method and the Touch Math techniques increased by .05 to a satisfactory level; (3) The addition of number ability was at a good level; (4) The addition of number ability after using the Direct Instruction Method and the Touch Math techniques was increased by .05 to a satisfactory level.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อการพัฒนาความสามารถรู้ค่าจำนวนและการบวก ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญาระดับเล็กน้อย จากการสอนโดยวิธีสอนตรงร่วมกับเทคนิคทัชแมทช์ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในงานวิจัย เป็นนักเรียนที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญาระดับเล็กน้อย (IQ 50 – 70) ที่ได้รับการตรวจความสามารถทางเชาวน์ปัญญา จากนักจิตวิทยาคลินิก และไม่มีความพิการซ้อน กำลังศึกษาอยู่ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2562 ของโรงเรียนบ้านเมืองปักสามัคคี จังหวัดนครราชสีมาได้มาจากการเลือกแบบเจาะจง (Purposive Sampling) จำนวน 5 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้การรู้ค่าจำนวนและการบวก จากการสอนโดยใช้วิธีสอนตรงร่วมกับเทคนิคทัชแมทช์ และแบบทดสอบความสามารถการรู้ค่าจำนวนและการบวก ดำเนินการทดลองตามแบบแผนการทดลองแบบ One-Group Pretest – Posttest Design สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ค่ามัธยฐาน ค่าพิสัยระหว่างควอไทล์ และ The Wilcoxon Matched – Pairs Signed – Ranks Test ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ความสามารถรู้ค่าจำนวนของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญาระดับเล็กน้อย หลังการสอนโดยใช้วิธีสอนตรงร่วมกับเทคนิคทัชแมทช์ อยู่ในระดับดีมาก 2) ความสามารถรู้ค่าจำนวนหลังการสอนโดยใช้วิธีสอนตรงร่วมกับเทคนิคทัชแมทช์ สูงขึ้น 3) ความสามารถในการบวกของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญาระดับเล็กน้อย หลังการสอนโดยใช้วิธีสอนตรงร่วมกับเทคนิคทัชแมทช์ อยู่ในระดับดี 4) ความสามารถในการบวกหลังการสอนโดยใช้วิธีสอนตรงร่วมกับเทคนิคทัชแมทช์ สูงขึ้น
