ENHANCING THE CAPABILITY OF COMMUNITY-BASED AGROTOURISM MANAGEMENT OF TOEYHOM COOPERATIVE COMMUNITY ENTERPRISE IN KHLONG SAM PHATHUM THANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to study on the capabilities and providing guidelines to enhance the capabilities of community-based agrotourism management of the Toeyhom cooperative community enterprise in Khlong Sam, Phathum Thani province. This research used a qualitative method by collecting data through semi-structured interviews, participatory action research and focus group discussions with 16 key informants consisting of stakeholders and community leaders. The data were analyzed by content analysis. The results indicated that the community context was agricultural land. The main industrial crops included pandans, rice, mitragyna speciosas and palms. Pandans are known to have a unique aroma because of the rich nutrients in the soil. The community can add value to their agricultural resources by applying them to tourism. A community may have a strong desire to become a tourist attraction, but less knowledge and experience of tourism management. Therefore, the guidelines for enhancing the capability of community-based agrotourism management were as follows: in terms of management, communities should allocate areas for tourism and to develop tourism knowledge and interpretation. In terms of support and services, communities should add more tourism amenities, provide tourism knowledge and storytelling to tourists. In terms of attractions, communities should create tourism activities according to the community-based agrotourism calendar, create good scenery and to improve the quality of local products. In terms of conservation and restoration, the community should conserve the Toeyhom species, raise awareness of environmental conservation among community members and tourists, and properly dispose of waste.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาขีดความสามารถและกำหนดแนวทางการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงเกษตรโดยชุมชนของวิสาหกิจชุมชนแปลงใหญ่เตยหอมคลองสาม จังหวัดปทุมธานีโดยใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เครื่องมือที่ใช้คือการสัมภาษณ์กึ่งโครงสร้าง การวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการแบบมีส่วนร่วม และการสนทนากลุ่ม กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียทางการท่องเที่ยวและผู้นำชุมชนจำนวนทั้งหมด 16 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า บริบทพื้นที่ชุมชนเป็นพื้นที่เกษตรกรรม ปลูกพืชเศรษฐกิจหลักหลายชนิดได้แก่ เตยหอม ข้าว กระท่อม และปาล์ม โดยเตยหอมเป็นพืชที่มีกลิ่นหอมเป็นเอกลักษณ์ในชุมชนเพราะมีสภาพโครงสร้างดินที่สมบูรณ์ ซึ่งชุมชนสามารถเพิ่มมูลค่าและคุณค่าทรัพยากรการเกษตรเหล่านี้ได้ด้วยการนำมาประยุกต์ใช้กับการท่องเที่ยว ชุมชนมีความสนใจที่จะเปิดเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวแต่ชุมชนยังมีองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์การจัดการท่องเที่ยวน้อย ผลจากการวิจัยเชิงปฎิบัติการแบบมีส่วนร่วมและการสนทนากลุ่มพบว่า ชุมชนยังมีความพร้อมน้อยในองค์ประกอบการท่องเที่ยวเชิงเกษตรโดยชุมชนทั้ง 4 ด้านได้แก่ ด้านการบริหารจัดการ ด้านการรองรับและให้บริการ ด้านสิ่งดึงดูดใจ และด้านการอนุรักษ์ ฟื้นฟูทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม ดังนั้นแนวทางการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถการท่องเที่ยวเชิงเกษตรโดยชุมชนที่เหมาะสมกับชุมชนคือ ด้านการบริหารจัดการ ชุมชนควรจัดสรรพื้นที่ส่วนกลางสำหรับการท่องเที่ยว พัฒนาองค์ความรู้ทางการท่องเที่ยว และการสื่อความหมายทางการท่องเที่ยว ด้านการรองรับและให้บริการ ชุมชนควรเพิ่มเติมสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกทางการท่องเที่ยว บริการให้ความรู้และถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวชุมชนให้กับนักท่องเที่ยว ด้านสิ่งดึงดูดใจชุมชนควรดำเนินกิจกรรมท่องเที่ยวตามปฏิทินท่องเที่ยวเชิงเกษตรโดยชุมชน เพิ่มทัศนียภาพที่ดีในชุมชนและพัฒนาคุณภาพของผลิตภัณฑ์ท้องถิ่น ด้านการอนุรักษ์ฟื้นฟูทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมชุมชนควรอนุรักษ์พันธุ์พืช ปลูกจิตสำนึกในการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมให้กับสมาชิกในชุมชนและนักท่องเที่ยว และดำเนินการกำจัดของเสียในชุมชนอย่างถูกวิธี ทั้งนี้ชุมชนยังต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือและนโยบายสนับสนุนจากภาครัฐและสมาชิกในชุมชนในการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงเกษตรโดยชุมชน
