THE STUDY OF MATHEMATICAL FLUENCY AND FLEXIBILITYUSING PROBLEM-SOLVING APPROACH RELATEDTO EQUATIONS OF MATHAYOMSUKSA II STUDENTS

Abstract

The purposes of this research were as follows: (1) to study the ability in fluency and flexibility using problem-solving related to the equations of Matthayomsuksa Two students; and (2) to study the performance in fluency and flexibility using problem-solving related to equations. The participants included 30 Matthayomsuksa Two students. Thus, four of participants were selected as target students for in-depth behaviors on fluency and flexibility. The research content consisted of topics related to equations at the Matthayomsuksa Two level. The research tools included lesson plans, aptitude tests, observation forms and interview forms. The results of the study were as follows: (1) students who had abilities in fluency and flexibility were more than 60% of the total number of students with a statistical significance of .05; and (2) when instructional activities were conducted, there was evidence that the students worked on more problems. In terms of fluency, students had the ability to solve problems with more than one solution, and more than one category of solutions. In terms of flexibility, students had the ability to select a solution or a group of solutions that they felt corresponded with the given situation or conditions, and provided appropriate rules for the categories of solutions.

วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัย ได่แก่ (1) เพื่อศึกษาความสามารถด้านความคิดคล่องและความคิดยืดหยุ่นผ่านการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสมการ ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 และ (2) เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมด้านความคิดคล่องและความคิดยืดหยุ่นผ่านการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสมการ ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ที่เรียนด้วยกิจกรรมการเรียนการสอนที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 จำนวน 30 คน โดยมีนักเรียน 4 คน เป็นนักเรียนเป้าหมาย เพื่อศึกษาเชิงลึกเกี่ยวกับพฤติกรรมด้านความคิดคล่องและความคิดยืดหยุ่น เนื้อหาที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ เรื่องเกี่ยวกับสมการ ที่ไม่เกินความรู้ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย แผนการจัดการเรียนการสอน แบบทดสอบ แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรม และแบบสัมภาษณ์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) นักเรียนมีความสามารถด้านความคิดคล่องและความคิดยืดหยุ่น ผ่านเกณฑ์มีจำนวนมากกว่าร้อยละ 60 ของจำนวนนักเรียนทั้งหมด ที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ .05 และ (2) เมื่อนักเรียนมีประสบการณ์ในการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสมการมากขึ้น นักเรียนแสดงพฤติกรรมด้านความคิดคล่อง 2 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านการคิดหาผลเฉลยได้จำนวนมากในเวลาที่กำหนด และด้านการคิดหาผลเฉลยได้หลายรูปแบบที่แตกต่างกัน และนักเรียนแสดงพฤติกรรมด้านความคิดยืดหยุ่น 2 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านการคิดแล้วเลือกผลเฉลยที่ได้จากการแก้ปัญหาให้สอดคล้องกับสถานการณ์หรือเงื่อนไขที่กำหนด และด้านการคิดแล้วกำหนดเกณฑ์ในการจัดกลุ่มของผลเฉลยจากการแก้ปัญหา
